love moves me

my first mother's day is nearing it's end. what a beautiful day it was. full of sunshine, good food, open hearts, and cherry blossom trees. thank you, papaG, for pulling the car over so i could take some of these shots. the illustrations, i pulled off the web, and the last image is a copy from a stunning book i received from a good friend a handful of years back called hiroshige one hundred views of edo.

a few weeks ago i came upon the artist, maki. she is amazing. you should check out what she did with her 1000 birds project to help people suffering in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in japan. i haven't stopped thinking about her generosity of spirit and gifts to the world. there is so much more i want to write but words seem too quaint at this moment. it's been a long day and my heart is both full and breaking at the same time...i feel so close to my loved ones and yet so far from a place where i know more than thoughts are needed to invoke change...

i would like to find and link to more artists doing work like this. if you know of any...please let me know!
